Antiques,
Art, Decor, Collectibles
This list focuses on unique Mom &
Pop shops, not on all the stores you already have at home. Yes, the area has the usual
Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Lowes, Home Depot, auto parts stores, etc. But
we're guessing you'd like something unique, something different so that is what is on this
list.
In addition to the ten shops and
stores listed here, there are at least another 15 that we have not listed.
As with restaurants, small Mom &
Pop stores have a tendency to come and go, and to change hours. We try to keep up with
them all, but your best bet is to phone before you go if you don't want to take your
chances on their being open when you drive by on the tour. As with our restaurant list, we
use an asterisk here to note the shops that have been in business for quite sometime.
The unique stores and shops are all
on the Highway 5 leg of our tour, or on Main Street in Mountain View.

- Men plan on more than one cup of coffee here! The woman in your
life will love this place! The Ozark Mountain Gallery is a great collection of quality
home decor, art, fine art prints, and similar. The Brookfalls Restaurant is
open Tuesday through Saturday for lunches from 11am until 2pm, and open for dinner Friday
and Saturday at 6pm for a fabulous prime rib specialty. Most of the dishes, desserts, and
salad dressings are homemade on site. You'll enjoy the large
picture window looking out over a beautiful Ozark meadow as you dine. If you are looking
for a wedding spot, talk to them! There is a large parking lot. RVs will fit just fine.
Point 10 - Calico Rock - there are a couple of antique and
collectable stores on Hwy 56, but catching them when they are open can be a challenge. The
Calico Rock Historical District (Main Street) is a short block of stores and offices.
Knowles True Value Hardware Store, which is a large honest-to-God country hardware store
with endless inventory, has been around for many years. Facing the bridge over the White
River on Main Street, the local artist guild shop is on your right. There is also an ice

specialty stores in Mountain View, the top quality art and craft shops are mostly around,
or near, the Square. It also pays to drive up and down Main Street and Sylamore Avenue.
Aunt Minnie's Mall is at 507 Sylamore Avenue and worth a stop. There are enough artists in
the Mountain View area to support an Artist's Guild with it's own store. While you can

handmade pottery. At any given time there will be some 20 shops selling unique art,
crafts, and other handmade items.
