Spring Creek Trailhead of the Ozark Highlands Hiking
Trail - Turn onto Rand Road at Point 30. Go 6.6 miles to a T intersection,
turn left (south). You are now on FSR 1111 aka Spring Creek Road. Go 1/2 mile to the
trailhead at the sign. Across the road from the sign is the parking spot. This is the
start of the Sylamore Section of the OHT, so the trail only goes in one direction here. To
find the trail stand facing the sign on the uphill side. The trail is right behind you. It
heads east, and after nine miles comes out at Hwy 341 (aka Push Mtn. Road). Cross the
highway and in a couple hundred yards you'll be at the Moccasin Springs Trailhead at Point 29
. You can follow Spring Creek Road past the trail sign for about 9 miles. It comes out at
the little town of Big Flat on Hwy 14. If you go past the trail sign you'll see Shalom
Lane. Don't go there as it is private property. Spring Creek Road is rough, wet, and not
recommended for anything other than a pickup or SUV.
