Built by the CCC this stone walkway crosses Blanchard Creek on the way
up to Blanchard Springs. It's about 160 yards to the spring and it's an
easy walk up to the springs.

Blanchard Springs is the outflow from the water dripping and seeping
through Blanchard Springs Cavern. It is named after John Blanchard who
settled the nearby area in about 1856.

Photo 3 - Blanchard Springs Caverns - Mirror Lake
Mirror Lake is formed by the dam built by John Blanchard who had a mill
here in the mid 1870s. The turquoise water, which is colored from various
minerals from inside the cave, reflects the surrounding hills on it's surface
hence it's name. A long accessible fishing pier (photo right) allows for
fishing. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout. A stone walkway lets you
walk out to the waterfall (photo left0>
