2Cooleys
"We", the two Cooleys, are
husband and wife team Gary & Mary Cooley, Mountain Home, Arkansas. We are a for-profit
small business working full time since 1995 promoting Ozark tourism.
We're both over 55 years old and have no
plans for sitting around the house anytime soon. The 2Cooleys logo represents the two of
us running through the hills, having a blast. For us the line between work and hobby is
transparent. We love what we do
Gary grew up in the Green Mountains of
Vermont near the ski resort destination of Stowe, Vermont. He has also lived in the Idaho
Rocky Mountains and the Arizona desert.
Mary grew up in deep south Texas. She was a
long haul big rig truck driver for many years and saw more of America than perhaps even
Charles Kuralt.
Our efforts are a combination of commercial
photography, our own real estate agency listing and selling Ozark tourism businesses, and
the production and maintenance of five Ozark tourism directory web sites. Our 2Cooleys
Directories are used by some 500,000 unique readers every year for planning Ozark
vacations.
We also produce advertising and web services
for some 80 Ozark tourism customers, many of whom have been with us for more than
ten years.
We abhor false advertising, hype, and
worn-out lazy grandstanding phrases like "breath-taking" and "something for
everyone" and "beautiful sparkling". Instead we prefer a realistic
approach, which means a level of detail few are willing to pursue. It takes incredible
courage to be honest in tourism advertising, a challenge we enjoy.
