Ozark Mountains Arkansas
Aerial Photo 9 -  Leatherwood Wilderness Area, Baxter/Marion County, Arkansas
The Leatherwood Wilderness is a roadless section of the Ozark National Forest. The only way you can explore it is on foot or on horseback. However, if you want a truly wild back road adventure you can drive all around the Leatherwood in about 3 hours on a mostly smooth dirt road. You can drive it in a regular auto, but be careful and use some common sense.
