American Smoke Tree. The best place to see the "smokes" is on the Glade Top Trail, which is actually a road.   Usually the smoke trees peak in early October, but this one hung on all the way to the end of October.  Use the 2Cooleys map to find the  Glade Top Trail   Photo date: Oct. 21, 2012
